Capability inheritance
Capability inheritance is the property that a mounted agent-native app can improve when the user's Host model improves, without the publisher shipping a migration or carrying frontier inference cost. The app's judgment, governance, and state stay constant while the intelligence underneath upgrades. The claim always travels with its caveat: model changes are logged on governed actions, because model behavior changes both ways and regressions are real.
Inheritance is one of two independent axes along which an agent-native app appreciates. The Host gets more capable on the provider's schedule; the user's owned corrections, extensions, and accumulated state compound on the user's. Conventional software has neither axis without the vendor shipping.
The logging requirement is not decoration. Recording model identity on every governed action is what turns 'the new model broke my workflow' from an anecdote into a diffable fact, and it's the honest cost of claiming inheritance at all.
